Construction Division Positions
Senior Estimator / Federal Government - Tampa, FL
The Federal Government Estimator is responsible for all aspects of construction estimating including hard bids, Design / Build, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating.
Travel Required: 10% - 30%
Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelors Degree - preferably in
Construction Management and / or Engineering
10 - 15 years of experience in Estimating, Federal
Government.
Previous experience with managing direct reports.
Working Knowledge of Estimating Technology. (On-Screen, MC2,
Excel)
Proven knowledge of construction best practices.
Strategic thinker who can translate ideas into tactical plans and
provide necessary leadership.
Strong sense of urgency in support of providing best in class
customer service.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills to all levels of
an organization.
Excellent technology skills, including standard office software and
estimating technology software
Strong planning, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
Capacity to coordinate efforts involving staff from different
departments and external partners.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and administrative
skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Federal Government
Estimating.
• Partner with regional Estimators on bids.
• Interact with and manage design teams.
• Establish standard practices for Federal Estimating
department.
• Development of detailed cost proposals associated with
construction projects.
• Reviews / analyzes Request for Proposals (RFP's)
specifications, Requests for Information (RFI's), drawings, attend
pre-bid meetings / site visits, etc. to determine scope of work and
required contents of estimate.
• Manages the development of estimates from inception to
completion.
• Responsible for conceptual estimating, cost analysis and
estimating - planning, coordination and consolidation.
• Lead bid review process.
• Provide active involvement and support to operations buyout
process.
• Follows awarded contracts as assigned. May include
estimating extra work items, change orders, etc.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this
job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of
time. The employee will spend most of their time in an office
environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
