Construction Division Positions


Estimator - Cape Canaveral, Florida
- Prepare portions of contract proposal estimates for one or more disciplines. Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and scope of work within their assigned discipline. Supports and maintains estimating historical data files and estimating software. Maintain files of working documents as back up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, prices lists, etc. Support other departments personnel as required may include preparing take off and sub/supplier contacts in other disciplines. Educational and experience requirements include a 4 year BS or MS engineering degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or 2 year experience.
 


Construction Superintendent - Cape Canaveral, Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, Tampa, Florida
- Candidate will oversee daily construction activities at work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials and progress of the project. Work with contractors to complete project within the given budget and timeframe.

Prefer a bachelor’s degree and/or at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Also has experience working for governmental agencies such as US Navy, Army, Air Force, etc. Government contract experience a plus.
 


Project Coordinator – Tampa, Florida
- Construction and Environmental operation departments needs support with procurement, project set-up, file maintenance, estimating duties from pre-bid meeting, bid solicitations, bid compilation and submittal. Maintain project files; RFI's RFQ's. Distribute and log drawings, prepare bid forms, review and clarify sub scoptes and setup project sites.

Computer Skills: Extensive Excel, Word, and SureTrak, Construction Project Manager (a plus).

Overall construction/environmental process knowledge.



Construction Project Manager - Cape Canaveral, Florida, Gainesville, Florida, Tampa, Florida
- Candidate will oversee daily construction activities at work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials and progress of the project. Candidate will supervise all personnel working on construction projects including superintendents, field staff and administrative staff. Work with contractors to complete project with the given budget and timeframe.

Prefer a bachelor’s degree and at least 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the industry concepts, practices and procedures. Experience with Suretrak Project Management Software and working for governmental agencies such as U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, etc. Government contract experience a plus.



Environmental Services Division Positions


Geologist/Hydrogeologist (CPG) - J2 ENGINEERING, INC. is seeking Florida CPG or CPG WITH ability to transfer CPG from qualifying agency in another state. 7-10 years experience. Degree in geology with strong chemistry background. Serve as J2’s technical lead in Tampa Office providing geological/hydro geological services in support of HTRW environmental projects. Demonstrated experience performing contamination assessments, feasibility studies of remedial technologies, risk assessments, GW modeling, pump tests and other GW and aquifer related testing. Experience with GW treatment system and optimization of same; including installation and operation/ maintenance. Possess demonstrated oral and written communication skills. OSHA 40-hr. Hazardous Waste Operations training with current 8-hr refresher desired. Willingness to travel throughout US and Caribbean. Bilingual skills in Spanish/English a plus. Industrial Hygienist – J2 has an immediate need for an industrial hygienist in Tampa. Relevant experience in managing, developing and implementing programs in support of multi-year/multi-million dollar contracts. Conduct environmental assessments, asbestos/lead-based paint (LBP)/mold surveys, decontamination/ decommissioning/remediation and abatement oversight. The position will be based in our Tampa, Florida office and will require some travel. Must have a technical degree with a background in engineering, safety & health, or related field. The successful candidate must also demonstrate solid project management and supervisory experience; experience with OSHA/EPA compliance, worker exposure, and indoor air quality; and preferably have asbestos/LBP/mold certifications in several states and/or be a Certified Industrial Hygienist with a nationally accredited organization.



Staff Geologist/Scientist (Jr. Level)
–  J2 has an immediate need for junior staff geologists /scientists in the following areas (Tampa, Atlanta & Pensacola) As a Staff Geologist/Staff Scientist you will be responsible for assisting in the field on various projects related with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, waste stream sampling, remedial systems operation and maintenance, and site characterizations.   Additional duties include borehole and geophysical logging, geologic mapping, data management and technical reporting. In addition to these duties, you will also be required to conduct research on various topics related with geo-environmental projects and subjects as directed.  Personnel must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to conduct repetitive sampling duties in accordance with strict QA/QC guidelines under the direct supervision of mid-level and/or senior level staff.

A BS in Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Science, Marine Science or Environmental Engineering is required along with excellent organization, communication and technical writing skills.  As a staff geologist/staff scientist you will report directly to Environmental Project Managers and Task Managers for all assigned activities.
